A GOBARdhan outreach workshop in Mumbai brought state representatives, BPCL and industry together to discuss scaling compressed-biogas projects. The meeting focused on the scheme, the Model State CBG Policy and the 2026–27 special assistance framework for states.

Compressed biogas is produced from organic waste and biodegradable feedstocks. The approach links waste management with local energy production.

The workshop also flagged India Energy Week 2027 in Kolkata as a venue for compressed-biogas technologies and investment discussion. The Mumbai meeting brought policy and project development into the same discussion.
