Rural Attendance App Update Adds Offline Checks and Stronger Safeguards
The upgraded NMMS app adds liveness checks, device security and offline attendance recording for workers under VB-G RAM G.

The Rural Development Ministry has launched an enhanced National Mobile Monitoring System app to record attendance under VB-G RAM G. The release, supported technically by IIT Madras, adds offline attendance recording alongside stronger security checks.
The safeguards include device checks, secure data transmission, anti-tampering measures, liveness detection and AI-based face verification. An exception process is available for genuine workers facing technical difficulties.
The ministry said about 40 crore of nearly 46 crore person-days had been recorded through face authentication. The updated app combines that attendance method with offline recording and a route for handling technical exceptions.
