Delhi Traffic Police issued a travel advisory for areas around Qutub Minar and Mehrauli Archaeological Park on 12 April, warning visitors to expect restrictions and congestion.

The advisory covered the evening period between 4 pm and 9 pm, when a surge in visitors and vehicle movement was expected near the popular heritage zone.

"India's story in 2026 is no longer about catching up — it's about defining what comes next."

For tourists and Delhi residents, the warning highlights the need to plan heritage visits more carefully during weekends and high-traffic windows. Qutub Minar and the wider Mehrauli area remain among the capital's most visited cultural locations, but narrow roads and limited parking can quickly create delays.

Visitors were advised to allow extra travel time, follow police directions and consider alternate routes where possible.

As Delhi's heritage tourism grows, better crowd and traffic management will become essential to keeping popular sites accessible and enjoyable.
