Mumbai woke to warm conditions on 20 April, with temperatures around 29C in the morning and clear skies across the city.

While the city remained warm, air quality was recorded in the good category across several areas, offering some relief for residents. Weather updates also pointed to the possibility of light rain bringing temporary respite in Thane and Palghar.

"India's story in 2026 is no longer about catching up — it's about defining what comes next."

Mumbai's summer weather is shaped by a mix of coastal winds, humidity, urban heat and changing pre-monsoon patterns. Even when the city avoids the extreme temperatures seen in interior Maharashtra, humidity can make conditions uncomfortable.

For commuters and outdoor workers, the "feels-like" temperature often matters more than the number on the forecast.

As April moves toward May, Mumbai residents will be watching for both heat relief and the first signs of pre-monsoon instability.
