India And UAE Deepen Defence And Energy Ties
India and the UAE have moved closer on defence cooperation, strategic petroleum reserves and long-term energy supply.
India and the United Arab Emirates have strengthened cooperation across defence, energy and strategic infrastructure, reflecting the growing importance of Gulf partnerships for New Delhi.
The latest agreements cover defence industrial collaboration, maritime security, advanced technology, cyber defence and petroleum reserves. Energy is a major focus, with India looking to protect itself from volatility in global oil and gas markets.

The UAE is already one of India's most important Gulf partners. In 2026, that relationship is becoming even more strategic as India seeks reliable supply lines, investment and regional cooperation.
Both governments have also signalled openness to expanded rupee-dirham settlement, joint exercises and co-development of niche defence platforms — signs of a partnership that is steadily moving from transactional to structural.
