Jasprit Bumrah Ruled Out Of Sri Lanka Tests As Auqib Nabi Moves Toward India Call-Up

India's Test planning has taken a significant hit after Jasprit Bumrah was reported to be out of the two-Test tour of Sri Lanka because of a persistent knee injury. Rediff, citing PTI, reported that Bumrah has not recovered sufficiently and that Jammu and Kashmir seamer Auqib Nabi is set to earn his maiden senior national call-up as replacement. Cricbuzz also reported that a knee injury has ruled the Indian pace spearhead out of the series. The first Test is scheduled to begin in Galle on August 15, with the second Test due in Colombo from August 23.

The loss is not just about one name missing from a squad sheet. Bumrah changes how India structure a Test attack. There is still a difference between earning a call-up and being ready to lead an attack. India will need to decide whether to use him immediately or keep him as a squad option while relying on more experienced names.
