Rs 150 Crore AI Fund Targets Commerce Startups
A new India-focused fund is backing early-stage startups building agentic AI for commerce and retail.
A new Rs 150 crore fund has been launched to invest in Indian startups building agentic AI solutions for commerce and retail.
Agentic AI refers to systems that can complete tasks more independently, such as customer support, ordering, inventory, product discovery or business operations. For India's commerce sector, this could become a major shift.
"India's story in 2026 is no longer about catching up — it's about defining what comes next."
Retail is large, fragmented and increasingly digital, making it a strong market for practical AI tools. Startups that can serve both small merchants and larger platforms may find strong demand.
The fund is expected to write cheques of between Rs 2 crore and Rs 10 crore at the pre-seed and seed stages.
